Getting started

CursorSlinger runs in the menu bar and has no Dock icon. It needs macOS 12 or later and a Mac with Bluetooth.

Open the app and allow Bluetooth when macOS asks.
Turn on CursorSlinger in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility, then quit and reopen the app. This is what lets it move the cursor, click and scroll.
Choose Pair New Controller… in the menu and press a button on the controller within 60 seconds.

Troubleshooting

The cursor doesn't move

Check that CursorSlinger is turned on under Privacy & Security › Accessibility. If it already is, turn it off and on again, then relaunch the app.

The controller isn't found

Wake it first: press Home on a Gear VR controller, or any button on an Oculus Go controller. Make sure its battery isn't empty and it isn't connected to a phone or headset nearby.

“Not paired with this Mac” or “Stale pairing”

Remove the controller in System Settings › Bluetooth if it's listed there, choose Forget for it in the CursorSlinger menu, then pair again. An Oculus Go controller pairs when you hold Oculus and Back until its light blinks; a Gear VR controller when you hold Home.

The cursor drifts

Put the controller down on a still surface and choose Recalibrate Gyro in its section of the menu.

Every click or movement happens twice

Another app is reading the same controller. Quit other controller or air mouse utilities while CursorSlinger runs.

My Oculus Go headset lost its controller

Pairing the controller with a Mac can replace its pairing with the headset. Pair it with the headset again from the Oculus app on your phone.
