Privacy policy

CursorSlinger does not collect, store or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.

Two versions, one difference

The Mac App Store version makes no network connections at all.

The version downloaded from this site connects to one address, cursorsling.ger.llc (copies downloaded before September 2026 ask cursorslin.ger.soy, which still answers), to ask whether it is still the current version. The request sends the app's version number and nothing else; as with any web request, our host sees the IP address it came from. We do not log it against you, build a profile or share it. The check runs when the app starts and every six hours after that, and the answer is cached on your Mac. If the request fails the app carries on working.

What stays on your Mac

The app keeps its settings in the standard macOS preferences on your Mac: the controllers you paired (their Bluetooth identifiers and the names shown in the menu), and each one's control mode and pointing speed. Nothing is sent anywhere. Removing the app and its preferences removes all of it.

Permissions

Bluetooth is used only to connect to the VR controllers you pair and read their buttons, touchpad, motion sensors and battery level.

Permission to control this Mac (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Device Control and Data Access, called Accessibility on earlier macOS versions) is used only to move the cursor, click, scroll and send the browser back shortcut in response to the controller. The app does not read the contents of your screen, windows or keystrokes, and does not monitor input.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
